keyboards and capitalism ambivalence

Still not much to report. I've fleshed out a lot of my research notes for the narrative project, and am probably ready to start building stuff. The level editor issue I was seeing was kindly fixed, but I haven't had much drive to build spaces lately.

Started to make a little blue floppy disk rotate in Deluxe Paint Animator today, when I realized I could just rotate the sprite from ZScript using the bWallSprite flag.

Last night I was trying to stay up late enough that I wouldn't wake up too early and looked at mechanical keyboard stuff for the first time in a few months, which I suppose is a project of sorts. I have a pretty clear idea of what I want, functionality and aesthetics wise, but no idea if it's available anywhere without my own woodworking shop. And stuff like keycaps are always tied to these daunting "group buys" that typically only very hardcore people (who have like a dozen keyboards each) participate in. Not loving the capitalist aspect of it; I just want to buy a Nice Thing and be able to use it for decades, ie the rest of my life.

Anyway for those who care, here's an ideal keyboard for me:
